Ken Keeney
Chief Executive Officer
Kenneth C. Keeney is owner and CEO of Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. He attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and completed the IBEW Local 309 Apprenticeship program in 1977. Ken began working for Pyramid as a Project Superintendent in 1981, became an Owner and Vice President in 1984, and became CEO in 1994 to supervise total operations for Pyramid. He serves on a number of organizations, including the Fairview Heights Electrical Commission (Chairman), the Belleville Building Zoning Board of Appeals (Chairman), Southwestern Illinois Division of National Electrical Contractors’ Association (NECA) (Past Chairman), NECA Labor Management Committee (Past Chairman), NECA Negotiating Committee (Past Chairman), NECA Telecommunications Committee (Delegate), NECA Strategic Planning Committee (Delegate), IBEW Local 309 Health & Welfare Trust (Chairman), IBEW Local 309 Vacation Trust (Chairman), IBEW Local 309 Income Security Trust (Secretary), IBEW Local 309 401K Retirement Trust (Trustee), Labor Management Committee for Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois (Co-Chairman), International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Southern Illinois Builders Association Board of Directors, and the MidAmerica Workforce Investment Board. Ken also served as a Delegate to the White House Conference on Small Business in 1995 and as a Co-Chairman at the Electrical Expo in 2008 for the Electrical Board of Missouri and Illinois.
Carol is an Owner and President of Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. Her schooling includes a Bachelors Degree in English, leadership management courses, and the McCormick Estimating course. She became Pyramid’s Office Manager in 1986. She moved into the Presidency in 1994 and has been in charge of insurance negotiations and claims, financial statements, purchasing equipment, monitoring the company profit sharing fund, hiring and managing employees, and filing tax forms. Carol is a member of various organizations, including the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), Southern Illinois Builders Association, Fairview Heights Rotary Club Past President, Southwestern Illinois Leadership Council, and the Fairview Heights Chamber of Commerce.
Scott Korte
Vice President - Chief Estimator
Scott Korte is an Owner and Vice President of Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. He attended Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science in 1988. He went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1995 through Southern Illinois University. Scott began working at Pyramid in 1988 and became a Partner in 2003. Scott’s duties include estimating commercial, industrial, highway lighting, and traffic signal projects. He is also the project manager on many different projects where he is in charge of scheduling material and manpower requirements. Scott has been involved in a variety of projects across the Metro-East area. These include traffic signal installation and maintenance, various educational institutions with the largest one being renovations at Lindenwood University in Belleville, Bowman Pump Station Renovation, and MetroLink maintenance and renovations.
Mike Kemper
Secretary - Project Manager
Mike Kemper attended Ranken Technical College and completed the IBEW Local 309 Apprenticeship Program in 1982. He began working for Pyramid as a Foreman in 1984. He became a Project Manager in 1992 and then a Partner in 2003. Mike has been in charge of numerous projects across the Metro-East with the most recent projects being on Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, including the US Transcom Consolidation Project, the 375th Security Forces Facility, and numerous other remodels and renovations to various buildings on the base. Mike was also the project manager for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Valmeyer, Illinois, and the United States Army Reserve Center in Granite City, Illinois. In addition to these recent jobs, Mike has been involved with projects at various educational institutions in the surrounding communities, including Belleville West High School. Mike has completed Leviton/Mohawk Certification as well as Fiber Optics Training through IBEW Local 309.
Bob Snell
Treasurer - Project Manager
Bob Snell has been with Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. since 1987 when he began as a General Foreman. He became a Superintendent/Project Manager in 1997 and became a Partner in 2003. Bob attended the Ranken Technical Institute and completed the IBEW Local 309 Apprenticeship Program in 1984. He has been in charge of a number of projects across the Metro-East area, including the Montgomery County Jail Facility, St. Clair Square Lighting Renovations, Famous Barr Remodel/Renovation, National Foods Store, Wehrenberg Theaters, Waterloo City Hall/Police Station, MetroLink Station Finishes, numerous projects at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville as well as high schools in the area, and a number of hospitals including Memorial Hospital, Touchette Hospital, Gateway Regional Medical Center, and Greenville Hospital. Bob is a member of NECA and also serves on a number of organizations such as the IBEW Local 309 Pension Trust, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the IBEW Labor Management Committee (previously), and the NECA/IBEW Contract Negotiation Committee (previously).
Dave Lange has worked in the electrical trade since May 1986. He began as a Journeyman electrician after completing his Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology through Ranken Technical College. He completed his 4-year Apprenticeship training through IBEW Local 309 in 1990. Dave has been a Project Manager for Pyramid since September 2005. His responsibilities have included estimating commercial, residential, and industrial projects, as well as managing projects in St. Louis and Illinois. Dave is also in charge of our Service Department where he manages various service calls and directs service department personnel accordingly. Dave has also been involved with our Renewable Energy division and has successfully completed Solar training certification classes and has been the project manager for our Solar installs to date.
Lisa Fournie started with Pyramid in the fall of 2007. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from McKendree College. Before coming to Pyramid, she worked as a Pension Analyst for Metlife and for several years she did public accounting. Lisa’s responsibilities include; managing several Project Manager Assistants, oversees the accounts payable, prepares and files quarterly payroll returns in addition to other accounting functions.
Glen Chitwood has been with Pyramid since 1995. Glen has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with specialty in Production and Operations Management from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He is the Purchasing Agent and Warehouse Manager for Pyramid. Glen’s main responsibility is purchasing and overseeing Pyramid’s inventory of material and tools. His additional responsibilities include coordinating the delivery of the necessary material and tools to the various job sites on a daily basis and managing several warehouse employees. Glen is also the Fleet Manager in which he maintains all of the Pyramid vehicles including the trucks for the electricians and the line trucks and other various equipment used on the job sites.
Seth Malcolm
Project Manager - Safety Director
Seth has been a project manager with Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. since January 2009. He began working with Pyramid in July 2007 as an intern and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration in May 2009. His duties as a project manager include providing estimates and detailed proposals. Seth has most recently been in charge of a variety of projects, including Scott Air Force Base upgrades, MetroLink Platform Heater Installation, a design/build facility for Airgas in Granite City, and various restaurants and high schools around the Metro-East area. Seth is also the safety representative for Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. He has completed the OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour safety certification courses to help ensure that Pyramid employees operate in a safe environment. Seth is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
Derek Reynolds has been an Assistant Project Manager and Estimator for Pyramid since May 2008. He graduated from Ranken Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in electrical systems design technology in 2007 as part of the 100th year class at Ranken. Derek performed electrical maintenance work for the Ranken buildings and grounds department.
Paula Smith began her career with Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. in 1988. She is the Office Manager and a Project Manager Assistant. Her duties include payroll and union benefit reports, and supporting the project managers on contract jobs. She is also in charge of maintaining the office supplies and equipment for the office staff.
Nicole Haas
Administrative Assistant
Nicole Haas is a Project Manager Assistant and Professional Administrative Assistant who has worked at Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. since 2001. Her main duty is to support the project managers on contract jobs. Nicole has completed some AutoCad training to aid the Project Managers in completing project plans for the design-build projects.
Cheryl Lucash
Administrative Assistant
Cheryl Lucash has been with Pyramid Electrical Contractors since 1994. She is a Professional Administrative Assistant and Project Manager Assistant. She is also a Notary Public. Cheryl handles small contract projects, but is mostly involved with all the Time and Material billing for Pyramid. She bills all of the service calls in the Metro-East area.
Tali Schmelzer
Administrative Assistant
Tali Schmelzer began working at Pyramid Electrical Contractors, Inc. in 2008. She completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration through the University of Maryland in May 2009. Tali’s duty is to support the project managers on various projects. She is also in charge of completing the quarterly newsletter to keep electricians and office staff aware of what is going on with the company.
